ESTES PARK RIVERWALK
As part of a broader flood management and drainage improvement effort, Terry Stone led the design and implementation of the west end of the Estes Park Riverwalk, resulting in improved local building and parking access.
The design carefully balanced natural restoration with urban revitalization. A cantilevered Riverwalk extension was introduced, providing safe and engaging pedestrian access along Fall River and to retail locations. Preservation of mature spruce trees by retail and native landscape restoration along the opposite riverbank helped stabilize the river’s edge and reinforced the natural character within the urban setting.
The widened replacement of the Weist Drive Bridge, along with new sandstone pedestrian paving, further enhanced the streetscape and supported a seamless user experience. This transformative project played a pivotal role in linking the east and west ends of downtown Estes Park through this one-of-a-kind pedestrian experience.
Terry Stone worked on the Estes Park Riverwalk improvements as a Project Manager while working with Design Studios West.
