Terry Stone designed the landscape and amenity spaces for MorningStar, a multi-story senior living community on a complex 4.5-acre site in west Arvada, Colorado. Flanked by existing single-family neighborhoods and commercial development, the project required thoughtful site planning to create a welcoming and connected environment for residents.

At-grade amenities for both Independent and Assisted Living residents include two outdoor dining patios, a café terrace, an outdoor lounge with fireplace and bocce court, and raised garden beds that encourage resident engagement. An extensive rooftop amenity terrace offers sweeping mountain views and features a putting green, shade pergola, outdoor grill, dining tables, fire pit, and lounge seating.

For residents in Memory Care, a dedicated, secure courtyard provides a therapeutic environment with a water feature, sensory plantings, looped walking paths, and seating areas designed to promote comfort, safety, and wellness.
