PERFORMANCE PARK
Tucked between a high cliff and the flowing waters of Fall River, Performance Park was envisioned as a civic anchor and cultural destination for downtown Estes Park. The goal was to extend the Riverwalk and revitalize a lesser-used portion of downtown.
As Project Manager, Terry led a multidisciplinary team through designing the half-acre park and amphitheater, while overseeing the project through construction and opening day. The large sandstone-clad amphitheater was architecturally designed and fully outfitted with sound, lighting, and storage to accommodate a 50-piece orchestra. The viewing lawn was designed with tiered sandstone walls and flexible lawn seating for over 300 guests. Accessible amenities include the upper-level terrace with outstanding views and the adjacent picnic plaza along the river. Vehicular and pedestrian bridges provide necessary access across the river, and the extended Riverwalk offers pedestrian access from the heart of downtown.
